Wildlands Conservation Trust
The Wildlands Conservation Trust is an NPO working to conserve South Africa’s biodiversity. It aims to be a centre of excellence for the restoration and conservation of natural ecosystems, by developing pioneering socio-economic partnerships. Wildlands’ CEO, Dr Andrew Venter, and Thanda Safari have built a close working relationship over many years. This relationship includes joint fundraising initiatives for conservation programmes, of which the biggest is Project Rhino KZN. Wildlands also assisted Thanda with a R6m grant from the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism for fencing, alien weed control and community training, as well as facilitating the long-term lease on the Mduna Royal Reserve.
