Wildlife ACT and Animal Art Photography present a conservation-focused photography course with Wildlife Photographer Christian Sperka. Wildlife ACT is a self-funded endangered species monitoring company, with a project based on Thanda Private Game Reserve. Christian has extensive experience in photographing animals within South Africa, primarily focusing on lions, leopards and cheetahs. He is an expert wildlife photographer and he will share his techniques and experience with the photography course participants. This five day photography course aims to teach the art of capturing excellent wildlife pictures while participating in an endangered species monitoring program. Costs from the course will go towards the African Wild Dog and Cheetah monitoring on the reserve.
Course content
- Standard camera setup and equipment selection for wildlife photography;
- Basic principles for digital animal motion photography
- Animal behavior interpretation (how to be ready for your shot)
- Field techniques to deal with various situations (motion, flight, light, patience, etc.)
- Picture post-processing - from review and selection to turning your good shot into an outstanding picture, Christian will demonstrate how to use Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom as well as ACDSee Pro and Paintshop Pro.
Once guests are registered for the course Christian will personally be in touch with them to advise on any equipment or other course related questions they may have.
