On November 7th, Thanda Private Game Reserve was visited by a representative from the South African Tourism Grading Council, who considered every aspect of the lodge.
We had every hope of receiving a five star grading and the Grading Council obviously agreed, we are now very excited that we had received this wonderful accolade.
The Grading Council representative commented very favourably on many aspects of the lodge, particularly the décor and design of the villas and public areas, as well our mouth watering meals and the quality of our wine selection. During an early morning game drive, a large and varied number of animals were spotted, and our game viewing was considered to be excellent. The private bomas located at each villa, together with the relaxing sala and viewing deck, received special mention.
Many of the small touches which we feel make Thanda different and distinctive were also the subject of attention, and we were thrilled to be informed by a guest who has visited so many other wonderful properties that Thanda was special and unique.
All in all, a fantastic compliment, but we won't be resting on our laurels - we intend to make Thanda even more distinctive and memorable in 2005, and we look forward to welcoming many new guests to our world!
