Thanda Private Game Reserve is proud to announce the launch of Thanda Air. The historical maiden flight took place on 11 March 2005 from Rand Germiston Airport to Mkuze Airstrip.
The aircraft, a 7-seater Queen Air Beechcraft, accommodates a maximum of 6 guests and makes a daily return flight form Rand Germiston to Mkuze. Guests arriving at Johannesburg International Airport are transported by luxury vehicle to Rand Germiston. The flights are currently scheduled at 11am (departing from Germiston for Thanda) and at 2.30pm (return from Mkuze to Germiston).
Plans are underway to build an airstrip at Thanda itself, but until its completion, Thanda Air will be accommodated by Mkuze, which is only 15 minutes drive from the lodge.
The cost of a return flight to Thanda, departing form Rand Germiston is R2 200 per person, and including a return vehicle transfer from Johannesburg International is R2 500.
