We recently purchased a male cheetah at Thanda Private Game Reserve and have been anxiously awaiting his arrival for several weeks. Amidst great excitement, he arrived on March 17th and was released into a boma, his temporary home for next couple of months. The cheetah is originally from the Northern Cape so he'll need a little time to settle into his new home here in KwaZulu-Natal. He is "lion-wise" having come from a reserve that is also home to lion. He is a beautiful animal, approximately three years old and very good looking - no doubt the two female cheetahs that we currently have on the reserve will be pleased! He seems very relaxed but the guides will visit him regularly over the next few months so that he becomes familiar with our vehicles. We expect him to be released from the boma in the third week of June and no doubt once he is in the reserve, he will spoil us with some wonderful sightings!
